Finland: Part 1

November 25, 2016-November, 30, 2016

My second favourite place I have been is Kakslauttanen, Finland. A true winter wonderland, I visited in November of 2016 with my friend Matthew. During our three night snowy stay, we resided in a glass igloo which we would clearly see the the Northern Lights in. Not only this, but we got the opprutuinty to participate in some once in a life time excursions that included a reindeer ride, a husky sled ride, and a horse drawn sleigh ride. This trip was absolutely unforgettable.

We arrived to Finland on November 25, 2016 and then took a night train to Kakslauttanen. When we arrived, there were flurries everywhere. After checkin in ,we headed to our igloo.

The Igloo Village was about a five minute walk from reception. Luckily it was not windy this far north. Although, it was below freezing.

The igloo itself was heated inside and had a queen sized bed as well as a bathroom. The showers were located in the bathhouse. The glass enclave was definitely a worthy investment.

Our first night began with us trudging back to the lodge and enjoying a 3 course meal that included reindeer. Reindeer is undeniably scrumptious--with it being both tender and juicy. As we at Rudolph, there was a fire crackling in the background as well as soft music playing. It was peaceful.

This concludes part 1 of the Finland account. Come back again tomorrow for Part 2. As always, remember to subscribe to the newsletter and share with your friends.
